Lately, I’ve been obsessed with making bracelets. Everything from leather wrap bracelets to friendship bracelets to macrame bracelets. It’s taking me back to my middle school days when I would raid my mom’s cross stitch thread stash (remember cross stitching?!) and try to make friendship bracelets during class when the teacher wasn’t looking.
Wearing layered bracelets of any kind is very IN right now. Especially for summer. There are many tutorials on bracelet making on Pinterest. Here are a few of my favorites.
This leather wrap bracelet is easy to make but takes quite a while. It wraps around my wrist four times. I used 2 yards of leather cord for this one. I followed this wrap bracelet tutorial from Auntie’s Beads, which is very easy to follow. (I used a clipboard to hold it instead of the bead tray she used in the video.)
Friendship bracelets are super easy. It’s just tying knots. The chevron patterns are very fun and trendy right now. I followed the friendship bracelet tutorial from The Purl Bee. Make some wide and skinny ones and wear them together.
I made this bracelet out of hemp. The soft, cottony feeling hemp. I used this photo as an inspiration. There wasn’t a tutorial with it but it was easy enough to figure out. For the center thread I used the friendship bracelet embroidery floss because my beads had small holes and wouldn’t fit on the hemp. You don’t see the center thread so you can use whatever works. I tied a few rows and then added a bead, tied a few rows and added a bead, etc.
I really like how this blue one turned out. I followed this great macrame bracelet tutorial and I can’t wait to make more. I didn’t follow her directions for the adjustable ties because I’m really into these flower buttons, but it looks really cool.
Bracelet making can become addicting. I think I’m gonna need more arms…
